To the delight of professional and amateur DIY enthusiasts, today there are several types of materials that make their work easier.

And this is valid for saws. Indeed, there is not just one type of saw. Between a jigsaw, a plunge saw, a nail saw, a radial saw, and many others, you will have several choices. It all depends on your use of the material.

Steps for successful cutting

Big brands insist the table saw under 600 is easy to use. All you need to do is turn on the device and position yourself. And yes, that’s quite true on paper.

But technically, there are some preparations to be made in order to guarantee the quality of the cut and the success of the cut.

To begin with, you need to adjust the depth of the cut by changing the position of the riving knife.

It is the small metal accessory that separates the blade from the saw itself. You can regulate the gap via a knob or vice that you have to turn.

Place the cutting line perfectly in front of your blade. This will allow you to make precise movements while cutting.

Then position your board as it should. You need to make sure it is secure. One wrong move could cause a serious accident. Then turn on your best sliding table saw.

Just for information, it is not mandatory to mount the guide on the table. It all depends on the size of it.

The chief thing is to be comfortable while cutting. Which also forces you to choose the right location for your device.

It is not only a question of decoration, it will guarantee your comfort of use of the material.

To ensure a straight cut

As mentioned above, the table saw only allows you to make a straight cut. To bring style to your creations, invest in another device.

But you must have careful movements while using this device.

And for good reason, the blade turns at an optimum speed which could cause serious injury in the event of a skid.

To minimize the risk, place the board on the cutting line and move perpendicular to the blade. Do not rush. Don’t let that distract you.

And don’t change movements at the last minute. Depending on the thickness of the board, cutting shouldn’t take a long time.

But you have to insist on the same point until the cut is clean before continuing. It is not advisable to go back and forth.

Also remember to spin off your table saw after use or while preparing another cutting board: draw the line of cut, position the board, equip yourself correctly, etc.

Warning: Do not forget your protective equipment!

As a matter of safety, you cannot use a table saw without having equipped yourself with protective accessories upstream.

So, there are a few accessories that you should not minimize. The musts that we could mention are among others: gans, glasses, safety shoes and noise-canceling headphones.

  • The gans are specific accessories for carrying out all kinds of work. They are made of a thick leather and a metal mesh protection. This makes it possible to limit damage in the event of accidents. They protect you against small abrasions. They also minimize the risk of handling an electrical device with a jagged, sharp blade.

  • Protective glasses keep your eyes safe from residues and dust in the air. They provide you with optimal visibility during cutting. This also minimizes the risk of skidding. Opt for glasses that completely cover your eyes, or even part of your face up to the cheeks. These provide better support, even with the head tilted.

  • Safety shoes are a must on all construction sites, even small ones. It is a guarantee of safety, especially where you will use an electrical device. In addition, they allow you to move more freely on the job site without fear of abrasions, residues and dirt. They also guarantee you a successful look during woodworking and a certain comfort throughout the job. It is important to choose the right shoes, especially since you will stand during the entire cutout to have better control of your device.

  • Ear muffs are a guarantee of your comfort during cutting. A table saw under 1000 can produce sound up to 100 dB. These accessories reduce the nuisance.

Which position adopted during cutting?

The position you adopt while cutting can also impact your safety and the success of your jobs. The stability of the machine is at stake.

To use a table saw you need to stand. This gives you better visibility on the board and the blade. For maximum stability, have your legs apart.

Plant yourself deep in the ground. Place your supporting foot slightly more forward than the other if you must lean.

We should place the hands a few inches from the blade. Hold the board by the palm.
